El Nido (pt. 2)

Day 2 in El Nido. We were greeted by a cute little turtle by the shore. I knew we are up for a treat the moment I saw that turtle. And I was right. Tour C, Hidden Beach at Matinloc Island, lunch at the Tapiutan Island (and snorkeling), visit to the Matinloc Shrine at Matinloc Island, and the Secret Beach.

The only way to get to the hidden beach is to dive into the waters and swim into a small opening through the rocks.

Inside the hidden beach.

After lunch, we went to the Mantiloc Shrine.

The view from the shrine is truly breath taking.

After the shrine, we went to the secret beach. It was my favorite part of the trip and the most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen in my life. You have to swim your way to the beach because boats can’t get in due to shallow water. But the waves going to the beach cove is really challenging.

After the secret beach, we went to the Helicopter Island/ Whale Island / Dilumacad Island. My friends went snorkeling while Eric and I went skinny dipping in the other side of the island. TMI.

El Nido is paradise. Its the same experience I had in Caramoan, the feeling of not wanting to leave. Palawan is an amazing place to live. I now understand why my Aunt is considering to sell her businesses in U.K. to settle in Palawan on her retirement. I’ve seen turtles, octopus, and even a squirrel (yes! look it up!).

I apologize for the lack of text on both of my El Nido post. I’m having a hard time describing the beauty of the islands. I hope the pictures I took are enough. If not, there is more on my flickr account.
